EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN’S RIGHTS
The aim of this project was to advance children’s rights in Kosovo, by building local capacities to deal with children’s rights in the education system and bringing children’s rights to the political agenda. The main components of the project were: 1) Building local capacities for training; 2) Creating capacities for child rights counseling in primary schools; 3) Improve the status of children’s rights in schools; 4) Development of a curriculum of child rights at the Faculty of Education; 5) Raising public awareness of children’s rights. This project has contributed to building an effective capacity within the education system:
- 49 children’s rights trainers have been trained,
- 1,200 teachers have been trained as children’s rights counselors in schools,
- 500 school committees on children’s rights have been established,
- Three books are published.
- The children’s rights curriculum for the Faculty of Education was developed.
