KOSOVO INTEGRATION INITIATIVE- KOSINT 2020

The project “Kosovo Initiative for Integration 2020 – KOSINT 2020” aims at improving the access of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities to education, employment and social welfare, contributing to the fulfillment of the Kosovo Government’s commitments by encouraging the participation of civil society organizations in monitoring sectoral reforms, policy development and budget planning. KOSINT 2020 is funded by Roma Initiatives Office (RIO) within the Open Society Foundation and implemented by Kosovo Education Center (KEC) in cooperation with Balkan Sunflowers Kosova (BSFK), Roma & Ashkalia Documentation Center (RAD Center) and Syri i Vizionit. The project implementation period is 36 months, 1 January 2017 – 31 December 2020. The project has three core components:

1. Capacity building of civil society organizations to participate in sectoral reform monitoring, policy development and budget planning;

2. Monitoring sectoral reforms in Education, Employment and Social Welfare, within the government’s commitments to the inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities;

3. Policy development and advocacy through the influence of civil society organizations on education, employment and social welfare reform policies, in the interest of roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities.

The core part of KOSINT 2020 is the creation of a network of civil society organizations, which contribute to the inclusion of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities in the areas of education, employment and social welfare in Kosovo. This Network will enhance the impact of each organization and ensure wider scope of activities in terms of monitoring and advocacy for community issues. Network members will play an important role in decision-making processes in terms of continuous harmonization of kosint 2020 project activities with the evolving needs of the above-listed communities. Kosovo Education and Employment Network (KEEN), a coalition of civil society organizations with several years of experience, will provide continuous support to KOSINT 2020 with training and expertise in terms of monitoring and policy building capacities.
