EDUCATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP INITIATIVE (ESDPI)

The specific goals of the project were:

  1. Planning climate change coverage, environmental protection and sustainable development in the lower secondary education of the national curriculum of participating countries. Establishing a sustainable partnership between educational and environmental CSOs at national and regional level.
  2. Developing 3 educational modules for adults, targeted at private enterprises, public authorities and primary and secondary school teachers, in relation to the environmental aspects acquired and their impact on their work, sustainable development potentials, as well as adaptation to climate change and mitigation requirements (in line with common EU actions and policies).
  3. Developing and supporting recommended policies that focus on incorporating environmental protection and sustainable development into the national curricula of primary and lower secondary education.

The results of this Action were:

8 national reports planning for coverage of environmental protection and sustainable development in lower secondary education;

1 Comparative report on environmental protection, climate change and sustainable development coverage;

The joint declaration forming the commitment to partnership in education for sustainable development has been signed;

4 workshops were held to share information and expertise among environmental and educational members of the target CSOs group;

3 Environmental education modules (for teachers, public authorities and businesses) have been developed;

7 education policies for education and regional comparative policies have been developed and the way of their support has been drafted.
