On the International Day Against Hate Speech, we remind you that media education plays an important role in developing critical thinking and combating disinformation, stereotypes and hate speech.
In our training program “Media Education”, freedom of expression and reaction to hate speech are addressed in terms of competences for democratic culture, which every member of society must demonstrate. In particular, it is important that our students, as users of social networks and the internet in general, know how to deal with hate speech in a democratic way.
During 2026, KEC has organized 4 training groups in the “Media Education” program, with 84 trained teachers, empowering them to promote a culture of dialogue, respect and responsible use of the media in their classrooms.
These trainings were carried out with KEC’s own funds, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the professional development of teachers in the field of media education.
