The training programme “Protecting Children’s Rights through Education, Arts and Media”, also known by the acronym SCREAM, is a programme originating from ILO-IPEC (the International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour of the International Labour Organization). Through an agreement, facilitated also by the Ministry of Education, the programme has been adopted by the Kosovo Education Center (KEC) and is offered as an accredited professional development programme for teachers and other education professionals.
This week, two training groups under this programme have started, while a third group will begin next week. Participants were selected through a public call, through which nearly 300 teachers and other education professionals expressed their interest in participating in this programme.
Through the 14 modules of the SCREAM package, the training programme offers activities that enable the development of children’s creative, expressive and social skills, help children become familiar with the media world, prepare them for communication with the media, and empower them to undertake initiatives to establish cooperation with the community.
