PROMOTING COOPERATION BETWEEN SCHOOL, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY

PROMOTING COOPERATION BETWEEN SCHOOL, FAMILY AND COMMUNITY

The Community Centers project is implemented in seven countries of South East Europe and, until the end of 2003, was coordinated by the Open Society Institute in Budapest. At the end of 2003, the last funds of the Project were allocated, covering the financing until the end of 2004, while the coordination office in Budapest ceased to function. With the support of the project, four community centers were established in Kosovo: In Dobrushë (Istog), Korishë (Prizren), Kijevo (Klina) and Koshare (Ferizaj). Community centers have operated in village schools or other suitable public facilities and have developed activities for the benefit of the community, including teaching, youth, sports and cultural activities. Each center has had an annual fund that has made it possible to develop these activities and which is managed by the center itself. Two of the centres, Dobrusha and Korisha, have managed to receive funding from the KFOS Information Program and have established internet centers.
