Advancing value-based education through teacher development policy and practice reform in Kosovo – ValuED

Project objectives: The project aims to support processes of democratic nation building through teacher education and school development reforms. More specifically, it aims to facilitate an evidence-based reform in teacher professional development to reflect values-based education and promote inclusive education, equality, non-discrimination, and civic competences in all levels of education, improving the training of teachers and continuous professional development in order to impact the long-term quality of the education system while in parallel supporting direct school-based practices to promote the development of responsible citizenship competence.

Project activities: Actions include development of educational policies at the national level; reforming pre-service teacher education courses and programs and building capacities of teacher educators and school teachers for mainstreaming values education in the classroom and school life, teaching diversity and building responsible citizenship competence; developing sustainable capacity building programs for schools on building democratic school culture and inclusive learning environments; and implementing interventions at school level with the aim of developing democratic and inclusive school climate.
