INCREASE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH IN KOSOVO (ESSIE)

The specific objective of the project was to strengthen the social capacities of scientific research in Kosovo by developing human resources and research infrastructure and facilitating participation in European research programmes.

The main activities of the project were:

1. Creation of the Laboratory for Social Sciences and Empirical Research equipped with 15 computers, as well as statistical programs analysis of texts “software SPSS”, within the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (ISSH) of the University of Prishtina.

2. Research training program with the aim to improve the methodological and managerial skills of Kosovar researchers. 35 Kosovar social scientists participated in the program.

3. Organize the Public Launch Conference of “Horizon 2020”, to improve the capacities and participation of Kosovar researchers in European research programs.

5. Organizing an international scientific workshop “Social Structure of Kosovo – new research findings to advance political, social and economic discourse for Kosovo”.

Main results:

1. A Social Science laboratory equipped with 15 computers, as well as statistical programs analysis of texts “SOFTWARE SPSS”, within the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (ISSH).

2. 35 Kosovar researchers working in various Kosovo research organizations have the capacity to understand, apply and utilize empirical scientific research methods and European databases through participation in the research training program.

3. The capacities of Kosovar researchers to improve their participation in European research programs have increased.
