Expanding Access to Quality Early Childhood Development (ECD) and Primary School Education for Roma children

Overall objective

The project aims to improve the outcomes of early childhood development and the follow-up of education by Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian children aged 4-6 and 6-8 from seven neighbourhoods of the Municipality of Prizren and 2 villages of the Municipality of Istog, working with 4 schools in two locations; improving parenting skills; strengthening the bond between parents and preschool and school institutions; expanding access to integrated ECD services and increasing the quality of teaching and learning.

Project results

  • Increased number of Roma children aged 0-6, ensuring gender-disaggregated values, benefiting from quality ECD services and increased number of parents who consider of greater importance to have an active role in the children’s education;
  • Increased primary age children, ensuring gender disaggregated values, benefiting from inclusive, quality education in the targeted locations;
  • Increased public sensitivity towards participation and inclusion education.
