Balkan Emerging Leaders Initiative (BELI)

General Objectives

• To increase youth engagement in democratic processes within participating Western Balkan countries.
• To build student capacities and create a regional youth leadership network that fosters civic participation, democratic advocacy, and student representation in high schools and beyond.

Specific Objectives

• Strengthening the capacities of Student Councils.
• Promoting the inclusion of marginalized youth in Student Councils and decision-making processes.
• Building the capacities of young leaders.
• Establishing a Regional Youth Leaders Network.
• Empowering the role of youth in advocacy.

Project Results

• 600 high school students trained on topics of human rights and democracy.
• Increased awareness of student participation in decision-making.
• Establishment and sustainability of the Regional Youth Leaders Network.
• Development and implementation of the Capacity Building Program for students/young leaders.
• 24 actions/activities at the school level.
• 1 activity at the community level.
• 2 regional meetings.
• Final regional closing conference.
