HIGHER EDUCATION FOR MINORITIES

The one-day International Conference on the topic “Higher Education for Minorities in Kosovo” was organized on 18 May 2006 in Pristina with the financial support of the “Forum 2015”. With the organization of this conference, “Forum 2015” aimed to open a genuine dialogue on addressing an important aspect of minority education in Kosovo, in light of Kosovars’ efforts to be part of European integration. The primary purpose of the Conference was to open the debate in Kosovar society on the modalities of higher education for minorities in Kosovo, in an effort to meet the needs of ethnic communities for mother tongue education. The conference was preceded by a study by Georg Woeber, a higher education expert from Austria, and participants from Kosovo and European countries who have positive experiences in solving minority problems were invited.
