On December 10, International Human Rights Day, we marked the conclusion of the “AADA – Action Against Discrimination for All” project, an initiative that for three years has united schools, institutions and communities in a common goal: building a fairer, more equal and more inclusive educational environment. Thanks to the commitment of 15 schools and 11 beneficiary municipalities, the project has managed to create a real student movement against discrimination.
With the establishment of 15 school clubs and the active involvement of 150 student leaders, the project has helped transform young people’s ideas into concrete actions, enabling spaces where debate, solidarity and respect are the guiding values. With over 10,600 students involved, 135 inter-school meetings, 45 action plans, 90 monitoring visits, two social campaigns and 45 digital content developed by the students themselves, the project has proven that when there is commitment and cooperation, change becomes tangible. Also, the reporting and handling of cases of discrimination in coordination with schools, the Ombudsman and the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation proves that promoting equality requires continuous action and institutional cooperation.
This symbolic day reminds us that human rights are not only universal principles, but obligations that each of us carries in our daily lives. AADA has proven that change begins with education, with opening the doors of dialogue and with the empowerment of young people who seek and build a Kosovo without prejudice. On behalf of all project partners, we express our gratitude to all those who contributed: teachers, principals, students, parents and institutions that stood by the initiative from the beginning to the end. Let us use this day and the achievements of this project as motivation to continue the efforts against all forms of discrimination and to build schools where everyone feels respected, heard and valued.
