October 10 – World Mental Health Day

October 10, 2025
Description

On this day, we remember the importance of mental health for everyone — especially for the youngest.

For 10 months now, the Kosovo Education Center, as part of a consortium consisting of members of ISSA- International Step by Step Association (Netherlands), led by the Educational Research Institute (Slovenia) and including Open Academy Step by Step (Croatia), Partners Hungary Foundation (Hungary) and Skola dokoran – Wide Open School (Slovakia), has been implementing the CHAVORE project, which is funded by the European Commission through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme.

The 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐄 project (which means “child” in the Romani language) aims to improve the mental well-being of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian children aged 0–6. This project addresses the critical developmental needs of young children, especially during their early years, by fostering environments that promote physical, mental health and well-being.

Through its activities, the project aims to promote quality and comprehensive early childhood education and care services, as well as raise awareness of the importance of supporting mental health from the earliest stages of life.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building a healthy start for every child.
