The process of distributing school packages for students of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities was completed. The distribution was made under the project “EU Support to the Implementation of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Communities – Education for Integration” (EU SIMRAES 2), which is funded by the European Union Office in Kosovo and Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEST) and implemented by Kosovo Foundation for Open Society (KFOS).
Beneficiaries of school packages are primary and lower secondary school children from 10 localities in the municipalities: Mitrovica, Gjakova, Prizren, Rahovec, Istog, Obiliq and Fushë Kosovë. The total number of beneficiaries is 1600. These packages will help the children to meet their teaching needs during the 2018/19 school year. Packages contain school materials such as school bags, notebooks, pencils, pens, sets of ribbons, different colors and other materials that students need to develop their learning activities.
At the ceremonies organized in the educational centers present were municipal education directors, community officials, school principals, teachers and parents together with their children.
